the move home
Your support enabled us to provide the 31 women with with farming tools, planting seeds and supplies for their journey back home.
Subsistence Agriculture is self-sufficiency farming. Moving to Northern Uganda, the women focused on growing enough food to feed themselves and their families. The typical subsistence farm has different crops (maze and beans in this case) and animals needed by the family to feed and clothe themselves during the year. Planting decisions are made with by deciding what the family will need during the coming year, and also with regard toward market prices.
We were initially unable to support the women with livestock on the first fundraising round but hope to deliver chickens, goats and cows in 2016!
